A Time for Thanks and Giving Back

My recent birthday leave followed by a five-day holy week break was a much-needed respite from work – both primary and supplementary.  It gave me time to look back and assess with whole-hearted gratitude and thanks for all of the great things that came my way. Some I fervently wished for, some just came to me as a surprise – just like an icing on the only kind of cake that I eat.

The past year have been so overwhelmingly great for me almost on all aspects – family, health, career and on the associations I was able to forge. It sometimes drives me to tearful thanks as I seek answers on why it is so. I don’t really know if I deserve all those but as a typical human, I accept it with wholeheartedness.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank the Lord for the gift of skills (and maybe talent) which allowed me to prosper on my career and opened up a slew of other opportunities for me to earn and grow as a person. I thank the Lord for the gift of friends and for the gift of knowing when a friendship is worth pursuing or not. You see as there are only two kinds of weather here in the country, so are friends – there are the “all-weather ones” that will surely withstand any kind of tests and those who will be there for your because the weather is sunshiny fair. I thank the Lord for revealing to me those whom I need not necessarily scratch from my list but to be careful from before my emotional investments become so achingly big.  I thank the Lord for the gift of family as the one I have keeps me grounded and lets me know who and what I should be at the end of each day – a wife, a mom, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a woman.

There are a lot of other things that I am sure to be thankful about that I might be unable to enumerate here at all. But one thing that I will never forget is to also thank the Lord for the gift of strangers – my acquaintances from the online world that I have been able to build through the years. Yes, that includes you who are reading this post. I may not be personally acquainted with each and everyone of you but I sincerely thank you for allotting a small amount of your time just by visiting and reading this blog.

As I give thanks, I also have the desire to be able to give back to a number of you. I am unable at this time to give back to all of you but I surely hope to be able to do that in the future. 🙂

Some of my blogger friends frown upon or avoid running (no pun intended) blog contests as it takes a lot of time as much as it generates a lot of doubts and issues from others who can’t find time to be happy for others. A number of us just finished with one but here is another one which I would love to have so that I can share some of the blessings that I have received from the past year. 🙂

So how does it go? Simple, just post a comment on this blog post – anything that you would like to say (except profanities please!)  and

  • The first LADY/FEMALE who will post a comment will receive a Sports Bra
  • Person who will appear as Comment #3 will get to receive a PHP500 worth of Riovana Gift Certificate
  • Person who will appear as Comment #30 will get to receive a PHP500 worth of Riovana Gift Certificate
  • Person who will appear as Comment #41 will get to receive a PHP1,000 worth of Skechers Gift Certificate
  • First person who will post and who happens to share the same birth month (March) and age (41) with me will receive a PHP1,000 worth of Skechers Gift Certificate. Please do let me know if you do. 😉

If I am not so lucky and I won’t be able to get to comment number 41 or worse, 30 these two items will have to be raffled-off.

Oh, and btw, no DTI thingy for this blog, only trust and confidence that you believe that when I use randomizer.org, the winners I publish are the true winners that were generated by the said program.

Again, thank you very much for taking the time to take a sneak peek on this blog and for some, using this blog as a resource and at times inspiration not just to lead an active lifestyle but also to do good not just for one’s self but for others as well.

Let’s Run!

    She must not be awed by that which has been built up around her;
