OBSTACLES: Use of extra gear like gloves and knee pads is up to the participant

1. WALL

the wall

The famous 8 foot wall which all participants must scale using a rope to go up and go down on the other side. Participants can help one another by carrying the other by going up and scaling down.
Height: 20 feet x 8 feet
Note: Penalty of 15 mins

2. HURDLES

the hurdles

Participants are not allowed to stand and run at the top of the hurdles. There will be a 30 second penalty for participants who will not climb up the obstacle.  
Penalty: 5 mins
 
3. LOW CRAWL

the low crawl

All participants will have to go on all fours to pass through the low crawl. The trick here is to use the flat of your inner thigh and the flat of your arms to crawl with ease. The length of the obstacle is about 10 meters with a height of 3 feet.
Penalty: 10 mins

4. SCAFFOLDING MAZE – NEW!

Participants would have to go inside it which has its inside heavily tied-up with garters to prevent participants to easily pass through.
Length: 6 feet width x 18 feet length.
Penalty: 10 mins

5.BALANCE BEAM – NEW!

There will be four Balance Beams which participants can use.
Participant’s who didn’t want to go through the obstacle will be penalized 5mins

6.TIRE DUMP – NEW!

The tire dump is an enclosure consisted of 200 tires differently stacked to one another. All participants must pass the tire dump.

RACE TIMES:

1. Assembly time:
- 10k -> 5:20am
- 5k  -> 5:40am

2. Gun start: around 6am

RACE CONTROL:

- There will be 100 Route marshals to direct participants.
- There will be 30 Water Station Marshals
- There will be 15 Lap Marker Marshals
- There will be four (4)Obstacle Control marshals on every obstacle. 2 Cue marshals and 2 penalty recorders.
- There will be Lead Escorts and Traffic Police

After the race, unwind and relax at the Men’s Health Urbanathlon Festival and celebrate the Men’s Health Lifestyle. It’s all about good food, good music and good company. Not to mention the tons of stuff to demo, sample and take home from our sponsors and partners.

1. Hydration Stations
Visit the hydration stations along the route and at the festival area and hydrate with the Urbanathlon 2010 Official Sports Drink, Gatorade.

2. Free Food
The Urbanathlon 2010 Official Food Sponsor, Century Tuna will be providing free food to all participants after the race.

3. MH Cover Photo Wall
Take a photo with our Men’s Health cover photo wall and be the Men’s Health cover guy to your friends!  For the ladies, the Women’s Health cover photo wall is also available on race day.

4. Finishers Booths
All finishers will get certificates, but only those who complete the 10k run will get the 2010 Men’s Health Urbanathlon medals. Freebies from sponsors will also be given away after the race.

5. MH Cover Photo Wall

Be Race-Ready for the
Men’s Health Urbanathlon 2010

Tired of running your usual races? Take your running to the next level with Men’s Health magazine’s Men’s Health Urbanathlon 2010. With tougher obstacles, an intensified course and more racers, this year’s race is expected to be the most demanding Urbanathlon to date.

The Men’s Health Urbanathlon is a city-based, multi-disciplinary race that integrates various urban structures as part of the course and will be held on November 7, 2010, Sunday, 5:00 A.M. at Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig City.

Registration for the Men’s Health Urbanathlon begins September 28 and ends October 26, 2010. The registration fee for the race is P500.00 and includes a race shirt, drink stubs from Gatorade, food stubs courtesy of Century Tuna and an issue of Men’s Health magazine.

The Men’s Health Urbanathlon 2010 requires more than just perfect running form and endurance so make sure you are properly trained and fit for the event. This year, 360° Fitness Club, the official gym partner of the Men’s Health Urbanathlon, offers race registrants a discounted membership training program designed by 360° Fitness Program Director Chappy Callanta.
