Before the awesome year of 2011 ended, I was lucky to have my hands (no, feet!) on Skechers’ new line of running shoes – the GO RUN. At that time, I was really so eager to be able to try running with my pair to see how it will measure-up. It is after all, my third Skechers running shoe and it will be great to be able to see if it will be a better model than that of the ProSpeed which I have come to really like.
So what really is the fuss with the Go Run? The people behind Skechers say/claim that the Skechers Go Run:
- is a new minimalistic lightweight running shoe line that integrates the revolutionary mid-foot strike technology
- is designed to enhance the natural running performance of runners by positioning the body for an efficient mid-foot strike, thus, reducing the impact of heel striking
- has Elite runner and Olympic silver medalist Meb Keflezighi as it’s brand ambassador who personally took part in the development of the product together with the Skechers Advanced Concepts Team by providing his professional insights through a series of product testing and consultations
The Go Run features:
- Radically lightweight – no extra material, no extra weight, nothing to slow the runner down
- 360-degrees Responsive Flexibility – flexes and twists allowing your foot to move naturally
- Sockless Running -integrated anti-microbial sockliner helps inihibit odor and prevent slippage
- Roomier Forefoot – extra space to reduce friction and allow your toes to spread, grip and push off.
- 4mm Heel Drop – 66%closer to the ground than traditional running or training shoes to replicate a natural barefoot experience.
- SmartShoe technology – guides body to efficient midfoot strike
- Goimpulse sensors – for enhanced sensory feedback
- High-abrasion rubber at strike points – for extra stability and traction control
With these facts, I gladly suited up and tried on the Go Run on several instances – as a casual shoe for walking the whole day, as a shoe while driving, as a shoe while mountain biking and most importantly while running indoors and outdoors.
Now with three pairs of Skechers running shoes, I realized how serious the brand is on making an impact not just as a lifestyle shoe brand but also as a fitness/running shoe line . From the ProResistance to the ProSpeed models, the Go Run for me, is by far the best Skechers running shoe model that incorporates the midfoot strike technology.
Here are some of the best points that I was able to mentally took note of from my Go Run (and Go Walk and Go (more…)
