2012 Run United 2:  FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1) REGISTRATION

How can I register for this race?

You can register for 2012 RUN UNITED 2 online or in-store.  To register online, log on to www.runrio.com from April 16-May 27.  You will receive your complete race kit with singlet during the race expo.

Registrants who participated in the 21K category for Run United 1 are entitled to exclusive early registration in-store from April 16-29.  Regular registration is from April 30 – June 3.  Kindly present a valid ID.  For group registration, the representative must present a photocopy of any valid ID with picture.

Is there a fee required for registration?

Yes, the entry fee and inclusions are as follows:

Can I register myself in more than one category?

No.  We do not allow multiple category registration as this may affect or disrupt your timing and for safety purposes as well.

How do I know if I have been officially registered?
For online registration, upon successful registration, the registration confirmation slip will appear on the screen available for print. You will also receive an e-mail with the registration confirmation slip. You must present this at the race expo to claim your kit.

For in-store registration, the store staff will provide a registration receipt. You must present this at the race expo to claim your kit.

After I have successfully registered for the event, can I change my event category?
No. Registration is non-transferable and non-refundable.

Should I choose not to participate after I’ve registered for the event, can I withdraw?
Yes. However, please note our withdrawal policy.

Withdrawal Policy
Participants who choose not to take part in the event after having registered can choose to withdraw. However, please note that there will not be any refund. Race slots are also strictly non-transferable.

Is it possible to make changes to the information I have provided after registration?
Yes. Runners/participants may proceed to the registration center they registered and ask the Registration Assistant for a correction on their records. However changes in the runner’s info may be limited to typographical error and change in address and contact numbers only.

What should I do if I have accidentally deleted my confirmation email?
You may email us at registration@runrio.com and we will resend your confirmation email to your specified email address.

3) PAYMENT MODES

What are the payment modes?
Participants can choose to either pay by

  • Cash – onsite registration
  • Credit Card (VISA / Mastercard) – onsite & online registration

Is the online registration system secure?
Yes. We use a security system consistent with the banking industry standards in the Philippines.

4) RACE KIT COLLECTION

When and where can I collect my race kit?
All race participants must collect their race kit during the Run United 2 Race Expo.

2012 Run United 2 Race Expo Details

  • Date:  June 12 – 16, Tuesday – Saturday
  • Venue: Block 51, 9th Ave. Corner 26th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City
  • Important: Please bring your Registration Receipt or Confirmation Email when claiming your race kit

Is it mandatory to pick up my race kit?
Yes. As the race kit includes your race bib number and your personalized Runrio timing card (for 21K runners) or bib number with B-tag timing chip (for 500m, 3K, 5K and 10K runners).  For online registrants, your singlet will be claimed at the expo as well.  (A runner that registered in-store will immediately receive their singlet.)

 Can someone else pick up my race kit on my behalf?
Yes, you can have someone else pick up your race kit on your behalf should you not be able to make it. However, you’ll need to issue a letter of authorization and a copy of your valid ID (school, employee, SSS, TIN, Driver’s License, and Passport) together with the Registration Receipt or Confirmation Email to the person claiming on your behalf.

Is it possible to collect my race kit on race day?
No. Please claim on the assigned dates at the expo area.

Can I have my race kit mailed / couriered to me?
No. Should you be unable to make it yourself, kindly authorize somebody else to pick it up on your behalf at the race expo.

5) THE PHYSICAL RACE

Where should I line up for the start?
21k participants’ starting line is at 28th Street (near Riovana BGC), Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.  Shuttle buses from SM Mall of Asia to Bonifacio Global City will be available from 2:30am to 3:30am.

3k, 5k and 10k participants’ starting line is along Seaside Blvd. (near IMAX) in Mall of Asia.

500m dash participants’ starting line is along Palm Coast Ave. (near E-Com Bldg.) Kids tagging will be at the Active Kids Zone inside the Active Health Expo.

Where can I leave my belongings?
Baggage deposit will be made available to all participants. Participants are advised to arrive earlier to deposit their bags to avoid delays. Runners must deposit their baggage/s at designated baggage deposit tents for their particular distance.

While maximum care and security will be enforced, the organizers will not be responsible for any loss or damaged items or delays in retrieving bags.

If I leave my baggage in BGC, will my baggage be transferred to MOA also?
21k runners coming from BGC must leave their bags at any of the 2 designated Baggage Buses parked along 9th Avenue near the Gun Start area in BGC from 2:30am until 5am only. After the race, you may claim your items at the baggage area for 21K Baggage Area (labeled as BGC 21K Baggage Claim) right across E-Com Bldg.

21k runners coming from MOA must leave and claim their bags at the 21k Baggage Area at Mall of Asia right across E-Com Bldg from 2:30am to 3:30am before they board the buses. Runners with baggage will not be allowed on the bus until they have checked in their belongings at the baggage area.

Participants are strongly advised not to leave any valuables in their bags. The race organizer and any of its sponsors will not be held liable for any loss or damage to your personal items.

Below are key points to remember for 21K participants:

  • Starting line at BGC across RIOVANA
  • Baggage buses at BGC: 2:30am to 5:00am
  • Assembly time 3:30am
  • Starting gun 4:30am
  • Cut-off start 5:00am
  • Finish line at MOA
  • Shuttle services*:
    • MOA to BGC**: 230am to 330am in time for the 430am starting gun
    • MOA to BGC**: 600am to 930am
    • *all shuttle services are exclusive to 21K participants
    • **in 15 minute intervals

Is it necessary to wear the B-tag timing chip/ personalized Runrio timing card?
Yes, all runners will have their race timed by ChronoTrack.

Do I need to return the B-Tag upon completing the Race?
No. The B-Tag is a disposable one-time use race tag.  The personalized Runrio timing card is reusable.  Participants are advised to keep it for future Runrio races.

What happens if I am injured along the Race route?
First Aid stations can be found along the race route as well. You may also alert Route Marshals or patrolling Paramedics regarding your injury.

6) THE RACE ROUTE

Will there be a cut-off time for the start of the race?
21k category start time cut-off is 15 minutes after gun start of the last wave.

In order to ensure timely re-opening of roads to normal traffic, and help ensure the safety of the participants, the race organizer will deploy a vehicle to pickup all remaining runners on the race route starting at 830am. By this time, all participants are encouraged to stop running and board the official vehicle. They are automatically disqualified and will be taken directly to the finish venue.

What kind of finisher entitlement will I get after I complete the race?

  • All finishers for the 500m, 3K, 5K and 10K categories will receive an Active Health Sling bag, drinks, and race analysis.
  • 21K runners will receive a finisher’s medal, finisher’s shirt, Active Health Sling bag, drinks, and race analysis.

7) PARTICIPANTS

What are the measurements of the 2012 Run United 2 singlet?

What if the 2012 Run United 2 singlet does not fit me? Can I still participate? Can I exchange for a different size?
Yes you may still participate.  Singlet sizes are subject to availability.

What drinks will be available for participants?
Participants can refresh themselves with Powerade ION4 and Viva Mineral Water at the hydration stations.

Are walkers permitted to participate in Run United 2?
Yes. But should you wish to walk during the race, kindly keep to the right side of the route to allow faster competitors to pass.

Could I bring my pet dog with me for the race?
No. For safety of the other runners – pets are strictly not allowed at the event site.

Will wheelchairs, bikes, skates or strollers be allowed on the race route?
No. Instruments with built-in wheels other than those on the official vehicles will not be allowed onto race course.

8) SUPPORTERS

Are my family and friends able to come support me at the Event?
Yes, supporters are most welcome to cheer you on anywhere along the entire race route but keep in mind that they have to just stay on the sidelines away from the runners’ path.

9) RACE AWARDS

What prizes will be awarded for each Category?

Where and when will the Awards Presentation Ceremony be held?
The Awards Ceremony will be held at the Active Health Expo area.

10) RUNNING CLINIC

Will there be Run United running clinics and how do I register for it?
Run United Running Clinic is on going every Tuesdays and Thursdays at Bonifacio Global City.  Sessions are from 6pm to 9pm.  This is free for all Run United 2 registrants.  You just have to register at Riovana BGC.

11) TRANSPORTATION

How do I get to the race site?
The Race Start is located at ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Bonifacio Global City (for 21K runners) and Mall of Asia (for all other categories). There are various ways to get to the race site. You can get to the race site via:

  • Cab/Taxi
  • Bus or public transport
  • Shuttle service:  We are providing free shuttle services for all 21k runners from MOA to BGC starting at 230am. This service will be available at 15 minute intervals until the last trip scheduled at 330am. After 3:30am, the next shuttle service to BGC will only be available starting 630am, at 15 minute intervals, with last trip scheduled at 930am. No shuttle services will be provided after 930am. Designated pick-up point: OCEAN DRIVE (in between ECOM Bldg and Blk12) at Mall of Asia complex.  Drop off point: In front of Riovana store in Fort – BGC

Will there be road closures and parking facilities at the start and finish line?
Yes, there will be road closures. Parts of the race route on the event day will be closed to traffic. Please refer to the official road advisory in the official race guide for specific road closure timings.

At BGC, you may park at the following parking areas:

  • 28th East Parking
  • 28th Street Parking
  • 11th Avenue Parking

At MOA, you may park at the following areas:

  • South Parking Building (Car Park Bldg above Dept Store)
  • North Parking Building (Car Park Bldg above Hypermarket)
  • South Open Parking (Open Car Park in between Arena and SMX)
  • North Open Parking (Open Car Park in between One E-com and SMDC Showroom)
  • Block 2 (Open Car Park behind SMX)
  • Planetarium Parking (Open Car Park beside Selecta Kids Universe)
  • Block 16 (Open Car Park between Two E-com and SM By the Bay)

Run United 2 2012 RACE EXPO Details

For the Run United 2 2012 race event, RunRio will be  holding what will seem to be the biggest Pre-Race Expo that the Philippine Running Community will experience so far.
