Immuvit’s Run Against Time – Meta Fit Run

Found this in my INBOX. Hmmm, seems interesting folks. 😉

Brace yourselves for a more challenging
Immuvit Run Against Time at Boni High Street on Dec. 4

A tougher and more challenging Immuvit Run Against Time is scheduled on December 4, 4 pm, at Bonifacio High Street.

If the last leg of this fitness and running event had participants savoring “deliciously painful” challenges courtesy of the META-FIT Run of U.S.-trained fitness science expert Jim Saret, the latest leg would have them doing not just the fun run, but specific META-FIT challenges as well.

“Only the toughest of our runners and fitness enthusiasts will get to do the META-FIT challenges, though,” explains Saret.  “We will only choose the top ten participants from the event to do specific routines.”

This does not mean that not all can participate in the new leg, though.  Immuvit assistant brand manager Valerie Sison explains that everyone can still participate in the fun run.

“The fun run is for everyone who wants to join our cause in fighting the signs of somatopause,” she says.

Immuvit’s Run Against Time is being held to encourage people, specifically those in the somatopause age (mid-20s to 30s), to learn how they can maintain their youthful looks and energy despite getting on in years.

As with the previous legs, Saret will conduct a lecture on how to effectively and proactively fight the symptoms of somatopause through the help of the META-FIT program and Immuvit.

The META-FIT program has been scientifically proven to trigger the release of somatotropin, a growth hormone whose decline is directly related to the changes brought upon by somatopause.

Somatotropin is commonly referred to as the human growth hormone and is produced in the human body and excreted into the blood by the somatotrope cells of the pituitary gland. Current research indicates that fast, short, and intense workouts help unleash these natural growth hormones.

“It’s never too late to take care of your health and Immuvit Run Against Time will teach you how to make health and fitness a way of life,” says Saret.

Interested participants for the 4th leg, meanwhile, can pre-register by emailing their name, age, address, and contact details to immuvitrunagainsttime@gmail.com. The first 100 registrants will get a free running singlet.

CORREGIDOR INTERNATIONAL HALF-MARATHON: The Race of Rock-stars

What do the Afroman, Cinderella, and the country’s top social entrepreneur have in common? December 19 holds the answer. On that date, the three notable personalities from equally exciting yet distinct fields will head to one destination: Corregidor. And they will not just do a tour of the island, but will do more than that. They, together with close to 400 gritty and elite running aficionados, will rock the island and run in the inaugural Corregidor International Half-Marathon (CIHM).

Top race organizer and running coach par-excellance Rio dela Cruz, also known as the Afroman of the Philippine running community, has confirmed his participation in the CIHM, billed the last major race of the year. Rio, fresh from his blistering finish at the New York Marathon, is eyeing the top spot in the CIHM to become its first ever champion.

Gwen Zamorra, GMA Talent Center’s newest and fast-rising sweetheart, who’s endearing a throng of fans with her role as Cinderella in the top-rating telefantasia Grazilda, will see action in CIHM. Unknown to many, Gwen has been into running for almost two years to date, with a 15k and a half-marathon under her belt already. But in CIHM, she is out to prove that she is not a frail damsel in distress. On the contrary, she may just unwittingly cause distress to male participants whom she might outrun in the race.

Then, there’s the country’s prime social entrepreneur Illac Diaz who is deadset to bring one of his advocacies to the running community and at the same time prove that his mountaineering stamina is no fluke. Illac is excited to be part of CIHM as he sees the race’s design akin to his ecological advocacy and a perfect venue to measure his remarkable fitness level.

With the participation of these three interesting personalities, the anticipation for the first Corregidor International Half-Marathon is fast approaching its fever-pitch climax. Close to 400 runners, and still counting, are rushing to register for this historic footrace on the hallowed grounds of Corregidor, known as The Rock. The composition of participants is nothing but out of the ordinary. From age to professional background the race looks remarkable. The youngest participant is 18 while the oldest, so far, is 67 years old. The professions of registered participants paint an interesting picture. Participants vary from lawyers, physicians, dentists, IT specialists, human resource practitioners, engineers, and even band artists. Likewise, a huge number of runner bloggers will see action in the race, with no less than Jinoe Gavan, the top honcho and moderator of the country’s biggest running forum and blogsite Takbo.ph will make his mark on the race course of CIHM. Surprisingly, the number of female contenders almost approximates the number of their male counterparts. Definitely, it will be interesting to find out how the gender war will be played out in the race.

And to further escalate the excitement of CIHM, Session Road, one of the country’s sought after bands, will rock it out for the Victory Party of CIHM, in the evening of December 19 at the island. During the party itself, exciting prizes will be raffled off for participants. Lucky participants stand the chance to run away with a gift certificate for a 2-night & 3-day stay at Two Seasons Hotel Boracay, Holster Jelly Sandals, trendy running shoes, Sun Cruises gift certificates, and cool items from Coleman.

Registration has been extended to December 4 and will run daily from 4pm to 8pm (beginning Monday, November 29) at ROX in Bonifacio High Street. For more race details, visit www.corregidor2010.runningmate.ph.

Runrio Leg 3: RUN UNITED 2 Important Announcement

The delivery of the singlets for the Runrio Leg 3 – Run United 2 has been on-going since November 3, 2010.   For all registered participants who have not yet received their singlets, below are updates regarding your singlet delivery.

Here is the list of singlets with confirmed delivery: LIST. For those who have not seen their names on the list and have not received their singlets, the following are some of the reasons for the failed delivery:
– incomplete information
– incorrect name
– incorrect delivery address or delivery address cannot be located
– when the delivery was made, there was nobody to receive the package
– singlet size was not indicated in the registration form

To ensure that all registered runners would have their singlets by the event, please see below singlet updates effective today, November 16, 2010 (Tuesday):

1. Please visit the Run United Singlet Claiming booth infront of ROX at the BHS from today until Nov. 19, 12pm to 9pm, for singlet claiming.  Please bring your RACE BIB for proper identification.

2. For those who are supposed to receive their singlets via delivery, delivery is still on-going.  But if you opt to just pick-up your singlets instead of having it delivered, YOU CAN PICK-UP YOUR SINGLET from any of the registration centers on the following dates (just present your RACE BIB):

from today until November 17:
– Planet Sports Trinoma
– TIMEX MOA

from today until November 19:
– ROX, BHS
– Singlet Claim Area infront of ROX, BHS

on race day, Nov. 20 and 21:
– Singlet Claim Tent at the event/activity area

Should you opt to pick-up your singlets instead of delivery, we will not stop delivery of your singlet as we cannot anymore pull it out from the courier/riders.  This can result to you receiving more than one singlet. In this case, you have the option to just refuse the receipt of singlet delivery or keep it. Runrio will not charge you if you chose to keep it. 😉

3. ONLINE registrants will have to wait for the delivery of the singlets which are already in-transit because we cannot anymore pull it out from the courier.

4. For those who got a wrong singlet size or damaged singlet, changes will be accepted in any of the registration centers and claim area starting today.  However this will be based on the availability of sizes.
