Nike We Run Manila 10K 2012 FAQs

1) REGISTRATION

 How can I register for this race?

You can register for the Nike We Run Manila 10K at http://www.werunmanila10k.com

Is there a fee required for registration?
Yes. There are three pricings to the registration fees. Philippines Entry fees are as follows Entry fee for 1 person:

P800 (24 years old and below as of 02.12.12)
P1200 (25 years old and above as of 02.12.12)
Entry fee for 2 people registering as Buddies (meaning registering together on the same Registration Form):
P1400 (24 years old and below as of 02.12.12)

What is the minimum age to join?
16 years old as of December 2, 2012.

Can I register myself in more than one category? No.

What is included in the cost of the Nike We Run Manila 10K registration fee?
Manila Registration for the Nike We Run Manila 10K includes:

  • A place in the Nike We Run Manila 10K race
  • An exclusive Nike We Run Manila 10K Tee
  • Finisher’s entitlement

How do I know if I have been officially registered?
Upon successful registration, the registration confirmation slip will appear on the screen for print. An email will also be sent to the email address that you provided with your registration confirmation slip.

After I have successfully registered for the event, can I change my event category? No.

Should I choose not to participate after I’ve registered for the event, can I withdraw? Yes. However, please note our withdrawal policy.

Withdrawal Policy
If you withdraw from the race please contact the Organizer at info@werunmanila10k.com to let us know you will not participate in the Race. Please note that pursuant to our withdrawal policy no refund will be given.

Is it possible to make changes to the information I have provided after registration?
Yes. Just drop us an email at info@werunmanila10k.com with the changes in your details.

What should I do if I have accidentally deleted my Confirmation email?
Kindly send an email to info@werunmanila10k.com with the valid ID number which you typed under the valid ID no. field and we will resend the confirmation slip to your email.

2) RACE CATEGORIES

What are the race categories?

  • Men’s & Women’s Under 25 (24 years old and below as of December 2, 2012)
  • Men’s & Women’s 25 years old & Above (Open to all participants 25 years old and above as of December 2, 2012)
  • School Challenge Category (Universities)

How does the School Challenge work?
When registering for the race, you can choose to run for your school by supplying the name of the school that you are from. The school in each category that has the most number of registered runners completing the Nike We Run Manila 10K race will win.

3) PAYMENT MODES

What are the payment modes? Participants can choose to pay through

  • Credit Card (VISA / Mastercard)
  • Purchase race code cards at the following venues:
    • Nike Park Fort
    • Nike Park Trinoma
    • Nike Park Mall of Asia (MOA)
    • Nike Stadium Alabang Town Center (ATC)
    • Nike Park Ermita

    • Riovana Katipunan

Is the online registration system secure?
Yes. Our registration site is SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) coded, a security protocol which is used and reflected by HTTP Secure (https) in the website address to represent a secure connection.

4) RACE PACK COLLECTION

What is a Race Entitlement Pack?
The race pack is an exclusive event pack which consists of:

  • A Nike We Run Manila 10K Tee (materials: sphere dri-fit, based on online tee measurement chart)
  • A Nike We Run Manila 10k Race Pack
  • A range of other goodies

When and where can I collect my Race Pack?
All race participants must collect their race pack during the Nike We Run Manila 10K Race Pack Collection. Your race pack includes your race tee and your timing chip (D-tag).

Details of Nike We Run Manila 10K Race Pack Collection

  • Date: November 27-30, Tuesday to Friday
  • Time:10am to 10pm
  • Venue: Bonifacio High Street (in front of Nike Park BHS), Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City
  • Important: Please bring your ID and confirmation slip to collect your race pack.

For those who are unable to personally collect their Race Entry Pack, please download and fill in this letter of authorization. Your representative must show this form along with a copy of your Confirmation Slip.

Is it mandatory to pick up my Race Pack?
Yes. As the race pack includes your unique Nike We Run Manila 10K Event Tee with your race number printed on it as well as your timing tag (D-Tag).

Can someone else pick up my Race Entitlement pack on my behalf?
Yes, you can have someone else pick up your race pack on your behalf should you not be able to make it. However, you’ll need to issue that person a letter of authorization and a copy of your valid ID (school, employee, SSS, TIN, Driver’s License, Passport, Postal, GSIS, Voter’s).

Is it possible to collect my Race Pack on Race Day? No.

Can I have my Race Kit mailed / couriered to me?
No. Should you not be able to make it yourself, kindly authorize somebody else to pick it up on your behalf.

5) THE PHYSICAL RACE

Where should I line up for the start?
Entry to the start pen is accessible from Seaside Blvd. corner Bayshore or Seaside Blvd. corner Ocean Drive, Mall of Asia.

Where can I leave my belongings?
Baggage deposit will be made available to all participants. Participants are advised to arrive earlier to deposit their bags to avoid delays. While maximum care and security will be enforced, the organizers will not be responsible for any loss or damaged items or delays in retrieving bags.

Is it necessary to wear the D-Tag?
Yes, all runners will have their race timed by ChronoTrack.

Do I need to return the D-Tag on completing the Race?
Yes. You need to present and turn over your d-tags to be able to receive your finisher’s entitlement.

Do I need to use the Nike+ Sport Kit or SportBand during the race?
The official race timing device for the physical race is the D-Tag. You can choose to wear your Nike+ Sport Kit or SportBand during the race.

What happens if I am injured along the Race route?
First Aid stations can be found along the race route as well. You may also alert Route Marshals or patrolling Paramedics regarding your injury.

6) THE RACE ROUTE

What is the Race Route?


The Start/End points will be along Seaside Blvd. in front of Block 16 at Mall of Asia. The race route map will be released at a later date. Nike and race organizer can change the route, start/finish and activity areas anytime without prior notice. Please check back for more information.

Will there be a cut-off time for the race?
Yes. Participants will need to finish the race within two and a half hours from the flag off time. Participants who fail to meet this cut-off time will not be entitled to receive the finisher entitlement.

What kind of finisher entitlement will I get after I complete the race?
All finishers will receive an exclusive finishers’ entitlement upon completion of the race. However, please note that there will not be any finisher certificate mailed out thereafter.

7) PARTICIPANTS

What are the measurements of the Nike We Run Manila 10K event tee?

What if the Nike We Run Manila 10K event tee does not fit me? Can I still participate? Can I exchange for a different size? 

As all participants are required to wear the Nike We Run Manila 10K event tee during the event, you are advised to refer to the sizing chart. Kindly note that requests for changes in sizes will not be entertained. Note that any kind of modification to the race tee will not be permitted. Participants without or who have modified the official race tee will not be allowed to race.

What drinks will be available for participants?
Participants can refresh themselves with Viva Mineral Water and Powerade Ion at the Hydration Stations.

Are walkers permitted to participate in the Nike We Run Manila 10K? Yes. But should you wish to walk during the race, kindly keep to the right side of the route to allow faster competitors to pass.

Could I bring my pet dog with me for the Race?
No. Pets are strictly not allowed at the event site.

Will wheelchairs, bikes, skates or strollers be allowed on the Race route?
No. Instruments with built-in wheels other than those on the official vehicles will not be allowed onto race course.

How many participants are expected at this year’s Race?
Approximately 13,000 runners are expected to participate at this year’s Race.

8) SUPPORTERS

Are my family and friends able to come support me at the Event?
Yes, supporters are most welcome to cheer you on anywhere along the entire race route.

9) RACE AWARDS

What prizes will be awarded for each Category?

Men’s & Women’s Open Category:

  • 1st – PhP15,000 cash + PhP15,000 Nike voucher 
  • 2nd – PhP9,000 cash + PhP9,000 Nike voucher 
  • 3rd – PhP6,000 cash + PhP6,000 Nike voucher

Men’s & Women’s Under 25 Category:

  • 1st – PhP20,000 Nike voucher 
  • 2nd – PhP15,000 Nike voucher 
  • 3rd – PhP10,000 Nike voucher

School Challenge: The school challenge winner will be the school that has the most students registered for and has completed the race.

  • PHP 100,000.00 CASH + PHP 50,000.00 NIKE VOUCHER + TROPHY

Where and when will the Awards Presentation Ceremony be held?

The Awards Ceremony will be held at the end of the event in the Race Village grounds at the SM Mall of Asia.

10) TRAININGS

Will there be Nike City 10K Manila runs and how do I register for it?
Yes, there will be Nike City 10K Manila training runs to help prepare you for the race. Nike City 10K Manila Running Clinics have already started in select Universities to help student-participants prepare for the race.

There will 4 running clinics, 3 of which will be held at the Bonifacio High Street and 1 in MOA for runners. Please check back for the details on how to register for this running clinic.

11) TRANSPORTATION

How do I get to the Race Site?
The Race Start is located along Seaside Blvd near Block 16 at Mall of Asia. There are various ways to get to the race site. You can get to the race site:

By Car/Taxi
Those coming from Quezon City, Pasig City and East area may take EDSA road going south bound all the way to Mall of Asia.

By Public Bus
Take a bus going to Mall of Asia, go down at the bus stop near the globe at Mall of Asia and take short walk to Seaside Blvd.

Will there be road closures and parking facilities at the start and finish line?
Yes, there will be road closures. Parts of the race route on the event day will be closed to traffic. Please refer to the official road advisory in the official race guide for specific road closure timings. Parking facilities will be advised at a later date.

  1. This is interesting and with the freebies shown on your post, I think the registration fee is good enough (i assume that’s a dri-fit Nike). Note: a dri-fit Nike t-shirt costs around 1000 – 1500 pesos.

  5. This issue should reach Nike USA. Next time if you’re throwing a big marketing stint such as this better be prepared so that registrants won’t go thru all this for nothing. Just reject straight up. It’s not suppose to be an issue that you run out of singlets/tees for men when we already secured our cards and have made payment already. Put yourself in our shoes please and imagine.

    I would like to kick off with a nice cue but as much as possible FRANK. In behalf of my cousin who joined.. THEY WERE SO HAPPY TO HAVE REGISTERED LAST FRIDAY (NOVEMBER 9) WHEREIN THEY GOT FOUR (4) TICKET/CARD SLOTS, THE NICE LADY @ NIKE GLORIETTA 4 (MS. REM) TOLD THEM THAT THEY CAN INPUT REGISTRATION ONLINE AFTER ALL THEY GOT OUR SLOT CARDS , AND COULD DO IT AT HOME SINCE THE QUEUE THAT TIME WAS QUITE LONG AND ALREADY PILING.. THEY TRIED REGISTRATION ONLINE SINCE TUESDAY (NOVEMBER 13) UP UNTIL YESTERDAY WHEREIN THE SITE ONLY ALLOWS “FEMALE” PARTICIPANTS. TO (I ASSISTED MY COUSIN) OUR SURPRISE UPON CALLING NIKE GLORIETTA YESTERDAY (NOVEMBER 15) , MS. REM NOW TOLD US THAT SLOTS FOR MALE WERE NO LONGER AVAILABLE AND THAT THEY COULD HAVE THE SLOTS REFUNDED UP UNTIL YESTERDAY (NOVEMBER 15) ONLY – NO OTHER RECOURSE DAW PO, AND THAT THERE WERE NO MORE AVAILABLE. I AM QUESTIONING THIS SINCE THEY HAVE GONE THRU ALL THE HASSLE AND BUSTLE FOR THIS VERY PRESTIGIOUS EVENT THROWN BY NIKE AND THEY HAVE WAITED ACTUALLY ALL YEAR LONG TO BE PART OF THIS EVENT.. THEY WERE TOLD THEY HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO HAVE IT REFUNDED.. AFTER ALL , MY COUSIN AND COMPANY HAD GIVEN TIME AND EFFORT TO GAIN A PREMIUM FOR THE SLOT ON THE RACE – ONLY TO FIND OUT NO MORE SLOTS / TEE SHIRT AVAILABLE FOR MEN, EVEN AFTER SECURING THE SLOT! AND WORST OF ALL , WHAT IF THEY DID’NT INQUIRE THRU PHONE, THEN POSSIBLY NOT REFUNDED AT ALL? THIS IS QUITE UNACCEPTABLE, SUCH A PRESTIGIOUS EVENT , HAVING SUCH A WELL KNOWN ORGANIZER, AND SPONSOR … COMPANY WOULD COME OUT UNPREPARED FOR THIS. CAN’T BELIEVE THIS. SAYANG YUN PRIORITY NAMIN SA SLOT AND ALL OUR TIME, THE EFFORT GRABE HASSLE DISAPPOINTING TALAGA – JUST BECAUSE NAUBUSAN DAW NG TEE/SINGLET – TRULY UNBELIEVABLE! IS THE TOP MANAGEMENT AWARE OF THIS ISSUE? HOPE YOU CAN ADDRESS THIS ISSUE.

    YOU REQUIRE PARTICIPANTS TO WEAR ONLY GIVEN OFFICIAL SINGLETS BUT YOUR EXCUSE IS NAUBUSAN SO PAPAANO ? DO WE HAVE TO WEAR LADIES SINGLET TO THE RACE JUST TO QUALIFY? THEY HAD NO CHOICE, FINALITY REFUND NA LNG DAW ACCDG KAY REM.

    I HOPE NEXT TIME BE MORE ORGANIZED PARA DI NAMAN PO HASSLE SA PARTICIPANTS, WE ARE SURE WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES WHO WERE ABLE TO REGISTER BUT GOT REFUNDED JUST BECAUSE OF SINGLET ISSUES.

  7. oh well.. kung naghintay kayo ng 1 year for this event, eh sana naman po, nag register kau nang maaga, since ang cut-off talaga ng registration ’till OCT. 31 lang… ayuz din nmn reason nyu noh…. now who’s fault was it???? sa organizers?

    • Correction po, updated cut off is NOVEMBER 15. Never settle for the previous date, Superceded na yun and rendered invalid.
