The Much-Awaited RunRio Awards Night

Woke-up in a kinda good mood today meaning to finally accomplish this one task that I have been putting-off all along- housekeeping of my running, mtbiking and blog-related files. As I was going about it, I chanced upon this folder with the photos and a link to last year’s RunRio Trilogy Awards Night:

This event, as we all know by now, was the culmination of the successful holding of the RunRio Trilogy of races for 2011 and was held on February 2012 at the Decagon, Silver City in Pasig. It was a fun, fun FREE treat from RunRio.

For 2012, a lot of RunRio Trilogy + RUPM finishers have been waiting for the official announcement for their own treat! Don’t fret now as I, in the risk of “jumping the gun” on the official announcement from RunRio, will be providing you teasers based on the information I have been given. As I still have to respect the official release of information, pardon me that I cannot directly point to actual information. 😉 Read on!

WHAT: RunRio Awards Night
WHEN: Saturday, 2 to 8pm (after the Holy Holidays and yes, exactly a week after my birthday!)
WHERE: somewhere you are all familiar with, passed by it several times as you run a RunRio race route, starts with an “S” 😉

I have also heard about some exciting changes to the event, aside from the venue, but will defer to share it as I was not able to confirm on whether it was truly finalized. What I do know is that this is surely one fun event for everyone which even the RunRio peeps are truly looking forward to attending.

Meanwhile, if you have completed the RunRio Trilogy – Run United Legs 1 (21km), 2 (21km) to 3 (32km) and the RUPM (42km), then time to look forward to that exciting Saturday afternoon as you get to be recognized for your outstanding accomplishment.

  • 200 meter dash – kids 6 years old and below
  • 1K run with obstacles (pair) – dog and human
  • 3K run with obstacles (pair) – adult and child aged 7-12
  • 5K run – open category (all ages)

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

  • Participants below 18 years old must have thier entry form signed by a parent/guardian.
  • Race bib number must be worn at all times during the race. It should be pinned in front of your running shirt.
  • Fill-up one form per participant. Registration will be limited to the slots per category
  • All protests related to the results must be made in writing and submitted to the Race Director within 30 minutes after the official announcement of winners. A PROTEST FEE of Php1,500 may be collected for every written protest made.
  • The organizer’s decision is final.

WATER AND FIRST AID STATIONS:

  • Drinking water will be provided at selected points along the route.
  • Medical aid will be available at certain points via roving representatives.

TOILET AREA:
Toilet cubicles will be available at the site during the race.

PARKING AREA:

  • All participants and other spectators are required to park their vehicles at the allocated parking area.
  • Please do not leave any valuables inside your vehicle.
  • Organizers will not be liable for any loss.

BAGGAGE AREA:
Baggage deposit service is available near the Stage from 4:00 am to 10:30 am.

GUNSTART PER RACE DISTANCE:

SUGGESTED EQUIPMENT:

  • trail running shoes
  • hydration pack/bottle belt
  • cap
  • running gaiters and energy bar or gel
  • head lamp especially for the 21K runners

WATER AND FIRST AID STATIONS:

  • Hydration stations will be provided at the finish line and along the race route.
  • This is an eco-friendly event; each participant is required to bring his/her own hydration pack/bottle. Organizers will only provide refilling stations along the race course; there will be no cups to avoid littering.
  • Medical aid will be available at certain points along the way and at the finish line.

PRIZES:

All Top 3 finishers for each race category for both Male and Female categories each get the cash prize along with a gift bag from our sponsors

FINISHERS MEDAL:

All 21km finishers will receive a finisher’s medal. Medals will also be given to the first 50 finishers for 5km and 10km categories respectively.

CERTIFICATES:

Race Certificates will be sent through email within two weeks after the race date to those who finish the course in their specific categories.

INCLEMENT WEATHER:

  • In the event of heavy rain, lightning, haze, fog and other inclement weather or adverse weather condition, the event may be delayed or cancelled.
  • Should bad weather persist beyond 7:00AM or the condition deemed unsuitable, the event will be cancelled.
  • If rain occurs after the race has started, you may continue unless otherwise advised by the designated race official or marshall.

RULES & REGULATIONS:
General Rules
1. All participants below 18 years old must have their registration forms signed by either a parent or a guardian.
2. Registration is non-transferable and non-refundable.
3. Multiple category registration for one person is prohibited for safety purposes and as this may affect or disrupt race results.
4. Participants who choose not to take part in the event after having registered can decide to withdraw. However, please note that there will not be any registration fee refund. Race slots are also strictly non-transferable.
5. Race bib numbers and electronic timing chips must be worn at all times during the race. Official time will be based on the disposable timing chip provided in the race kit. No chip, no time. Without the timing chip, participants are not entitled to win any of the top prizes.
6. Organizers maintain the right to remove any participants from the race. Injuries and medical emergencies are the utmost priority.
7. No late runners will be allowed to run 15 minutes after the gun start of their respective races.
8. All runners are required to have the proper loop band when they cross the finish line; no loop band means disqualification from the race.
9. A cut off time of 5 hours for the whole race will be implemented. Runners on the course after the cut off time will be pulled out by the Race Marshalls.
10. Time penalties and disqualification may be imposed by the race organizers on runners who do not follow race rules.
11. All protests related to the results must be made in writing and submitted to the Race Director within 30 minutes after the official announcement of winners.
12. The organizers reserve the right to make changes at its discretion without prior notice. The organizers’ decision is final.
