This year’s edition, dubbed as the Coke Studio Homecoming, presents an awesome line-up of Filipino singers and bands who are set to feature collaborations and unique music renditions.

13 of 14 Season 2 artists were present at the launch at the World Trade Center. Finding home with music and a bottle of Coke
Coke Studio returns with an amazing line up of local and international artists

There are many things that make us feel at home – laughing and spending quality time with our favorite people, munching on our go-to comfort food along with a refreshing drink, or even listening to a song that brings back precious memories.

When we return to where we feel valued and accepted, when we’re reunited with the things and the people we love, when we look gratefully at our past experiences both good and bad, and when we remember the passions that inspire us, we come home.

These unique instances are our own moments of homecoming. When we recall a special moment, the memory comes with a tune that was playing in the background, a lyric that stood out, a beat that fit the mood, and sometimes even a Coke in hand.

With the perfect jam playing and a bottle of Coca-Cola, simple moments with our friends and family become more fun, more memorable and more uplifting.

Now, music and Coca-Cola come together once more to give young music lovers and Original Pinoy Music (OPM) artists a new home at Coke Studio Homecoming.

In line with the Company’s thrust to empower the youth, Coca-Cola tapped into young Filipinos’ love for music through Coke Studio PH in 2017. Coke Studio PH became a haven where the diversity of OPM was celebrated.

This year, Coca-Cola connects to Filipino teens once again as Coke Studio PH returns to make them feel at home with the familiar sounds of OPM, giving them an avenue to show their love and support for local music.

For its second season, Coke Studio PH also further establishes itself as a hub of Pinoy talent, as it introduces a stellar lineup of local and international Filipino artists across various genres.

While the previous season brought together veteran artists and budding musicians, Coke Studio Homecoming calls Filipino artists who have shared their talents to the world to return to their roots and bridges them with homegrown talents who have yet to stand on the international stage.

From this colorful mix of talented Filipino singers and bands, Coke Studio Homecoming will feature groundbreaking, new collaborations between artists, as well as unique renditions of their original songs.

Coke Ambassadors will also find their way back home this season, as Coke Studio Homecoming features familiar faces, including the brand’s most memorable endorsers and Coke Studio artists from the first season.

“We received such an overwhelming response during the first season of Coke Studio PH and this really inspired us to work harder this second season and explore ways to take it further. Last year, Coke Studio became a home for OPM and now we want to continue and strengthen that legacy, making sure that the younger generation and the new lineup of artists can feel that same sense of belonging,” said Stephan Czypionka, Coca-Cola Philippines Vice President for Marketing.

While uniting teens through music, Coca-Cola takes it a step further by enabling them to do their part for a greater cause. This year, Coca-Cola announced an industry-first goal to collect and recycle the equivalent of every bottle or can it sells globally by 2030—a goal in line with the Company’s vision of a World Without Waste. This is why during all Coke Studio events, Coca-Cola encourages teens to deposit their PET bottles in designated recycling bins. The Coke Studio TuneCycle, a stationary bicycle that also grinds PET bottles, will also be a staple in Coke Studio events. These ground PET bottles will later on be turned into eco-bricks.

There’s plenty more in store so stay tuned and let the sounds of OPM call you home!

Under this agreement, PATAFA athletes will enjoy unlimited access to the internationally-certified facilities and equipment available at the sports hub. This is a very timely boost to the athlete’s training as they prepare to compete in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games.

Ayala Corporation (Ayala) has reaffirmed its support to the development and training of the country’s national track and field athletes, giving them access to the facilities of its newly opened Vermosa Sports Hub in Imus, Cavite.
Ayala had recently linked up with the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA) and served as title sponsor of the just-concluded Ayala Philippine Athletics Championships in Ilagan, Isabela.

“We believe in our national athletes’ potential to inspire, drive and instill collective nationalism through sports,” said Ayala’s John Philip Orbeta. “One of the biggest gaps is an internationally certified athletics facility which the Vermosa Sports Hub provides as a means to improve their performance and competitiveness.”

At PATAFA’s new official home, athletes will train in the only International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) certified track & field oval in the Philippines with specifications and standards equivalent to those they will compete with internationally. Aside from the existing oval and Olympic- sized pool, upon completion of the Sports Hub’s first phase, PATAFA will also have access to the 600-square meter Sante Fitness Lab, a first-of-its- kind combination of facilities in the country, which will feature a strength and conditioning fitness facility, sports rehab areas, a Sports Science Laboratory, a dance studio, a spinning class area, bike shop and services, a nutrition and fitness café, VO2 max/lactate testing, plus conference and lecture rooms. Future plans include a provision for a 3,000 seat multi- purpose indoor sports arena.

Manila Water Company, Inc., through its subsidiary Manila Water Total Solutions (MWTS), will also be supporting this project with Ayala through a hydration sponsorship of Healthy Family Purified Water to the PATAFA athletes. Healthy Family will be supplying 4,000 bottles monthly of its 500ml variant to PATAFA for the duration of their training at Vermosa.
As advocates of environmental sustainability, MWTS will also be working together with PATAFA on a program called “Toka ng PATAFA”. This program is an advocacy on environmental stewardship and responsible consumerism that helps promote the value of waste segregation through the recovery of used PET (polyethylene) bottles. This is an initiative to be spearheaded by our athletes as champions for health and wellness, as well as, staunch partners for the environment.

Ayala will provide financial support to facilitate and strengthen PATAFA’s recruitment and training programs.

“Ayala’s support will help the athletes train better, perform better and hopefully bring more medals and recognition for the country,” said PATAFA President Philip Juico.

The eagerness to help improve the skills and international ranking of our national athletes has spurred the Ayala Group to do its part in helping Filipino athletes achieve excellence in their respective sports and succeed in various international competitions.

PRESS RELEASE:

The Truth About Energy Drinks: Truth vs Myth Exposed

(Manila, Philippines) The road to the education of energy drink consumption has been a long-standing battle of proving facts from fiction. With today’s lifestyle pace further progressing, keeping up with the demands to fulfill more in a day becomes more and more time and energy consuming. The emergence of energy drink has given active and lifestyle people a lifeline to get more things done. And if there is one truth about energy drink is that you can control what you consume, and knowing the truths versus the fictions will allow you to maximize its benefits when you need it most.

Truth vs Myth about Energy Drinks

#1: Energy drinks containing high levels of caffeine

MYTH. A 240ml bottle of the leading energy drink contains about 90mg of caffeine, in which compared to a medium or large-sized brewed coffee that has 3x more caffeine content confirms this is a myth. But more than the wake-up buzz, Energy drinks also have added ingredients such as B-vitamins, Ginseng, and Inositol which also help further boost your energy and mental alertness.

It is always best to check the back label of the product to give guidance for you to track how much caffeine an energy drink contains.

#2: Energy drinks are also sports drinks

TRUTH and MYTH. While there is no difference between Sports drinks and Energy drinks, it is more correct to say that Energy drinks can be used as sports drinks. They are both categorized as water based flavored drinks which may or may not contain electrolytes, vitamins and other nutrients. The ingredients energy drinks provide are intended to enhance physical performance especially before workout as it keeps you more stimulated for exercise. However, one should keep in mind that energy drinks are diuretics because of the caffeine content, which is why it’s important to partner this with continuous drinking of water.

#3: Energy drinks are not for children or people with caffeine sensitivities

TRUTH. As caffeine being the key ingredient found in energy drinks, thus the effects on sleeping habits, moods, and even appetite may be experienced. Similarly on how we keep our children away from coffee and sodas, drinking energy drink is also not recommended for them. There are also high caution given to people with caffeine sensitivity, and most especially pregnant women as this may affect the fetus development.

#4: Energy drinks cause palpitations and difficulty in breathing

MYTH AND TRUTH. The main bad reputation of energy drink derives from the issue of experiencing heavy palpitations that may bring about breathing difficulties. As we’ve established, caffeine is present in most of what we consume: energy drinks, sodas, teas, and even chocolates and nuts. People who are not used to consuming this ingredient, or at the very least, people who do not drink coffee, will have higher chances of experiencing the effects. Let it be known that it is not because the ingredient is not safe for the body, but solely because the body adjusts to this added stimulant.

#5: Energy drinks are not regulated

MYTH. The leading energy drink in the country has been in the market since 2006, and for more than a decade, it has continuously passed the strictest standards of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The key ingredients inside an energy drink are also the same ingredients that are present in the food we consume daily. Thus, with this regulation, Cobra, as the no.1 energy drink, is approved to be widely available in the Philippines.

As the leader of the pact, Cobra Energy Drink vows to educate the market by sharing information about energy drink ingredients and proper consumption habits; proving that after all, you are in control of your own energy.

Energy drink enables one to power through various day-to-day activities, from mid to high-level energy requirement. Cobra delivers both physical performance and mental alertness made for people who push productivity to the next level. What’s more is that it is also a more refreshing flavorful drink that also has performance-boosting ingredients.

What’s inside every Cobra Energy Drink?

Cobra Energy Drink contains safe levels of caffeine, and sugar as safe stimulants for instant energy boost and increased mental alertness. It also contains high-quality B-vitamins that help the body get more energy from the food that you eat.

Added ingredients are Taurine, which is an amino acid that aids the body’s metabolic process and known to have antioxidant properties; it also contains Ginseng to boost memory, concentration, and performances; and Inositol that aids in nerve functions.

Cobra being the no.1 energy drink in the country continues its efforts in providing truths about energy drinks. This gives people more knowledge on how energy drink plays a role in their active and busy lifestyles – and an understanding that if we take charge and stay informed, we have the power to control our energy.
